Polk County Weekend Highlights For Sept. 4 Through Sept. 6
Brick-or-Treat opens its season at Legoland Florida Resort on Saturday and Sunday, with candy stations open throughout the park from 2 to 7 p.m. The event is included with park admission at 1 Legoland Way in Winter Haven, and children’s tickets start at $39. The remaining September dates are Sept. 12, 19, and 26.
Bok Tower Gardens hosts Labor Day Weekend at the Gardens Saturday through Monday at 1151 Tower Blvd. in Lake Wales. The gardens are open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with last admission at 5 p.m. Admission is $20 for adults, $10 for ages 6 through 17, and free for ages 5 and under. Military veterans and active duty service members receive free admission with valid identification during the event.
The Ritz Theatre in Winter Haven has two nights of programming at 263 W. Central Ave. Live and Loud runs Friday beginning at 6 p.m., and Dwight Icenhower presents Juke Box Time Machine on Saturday at 6:30 p.m., a concert of hits from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
VendorCon 2026 fills the RP Funding Center at 701 W. Lime St. in Lakeland on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. General admission is free; reserve online in advance or claim at the door.
Grab a coffee and stroll any of the Polk County Farmers Markets open this Saturday. The Lakeland Downtown Farmers Curb Market returns for its September through May season along North Kentucky Avenue from Lemon Street to Oak Street from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Winter Haven Farmers Market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 250 Magnolia Ave. Downtown Auburndale Downtown First Saturday Market runs monthly on the first Saturday. Haines City also opens a brand-new market scheduled for the first Saturday of the month. Kathleen’s Heritage Harvest Market also returns.
High school football fills Friday night across the county. Davenport travels to Auburndale for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Venice visits Lakeland at Bryant Stadium and Lake Wales travels to Winter Haven, with kickoff times available from each school. All games are listed on the Citrus Tea News calendar and event page.
Polk’s Nature Discovery Center at Circle B Bar Reserve, 4399 Winter Lake Road in Lakeland, is open Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
Polk County government offices close Monday, Sept. 7, for Labor Day, and there will be no residential garbage collection in unincorporated Polk County that day. Check your local services for changes.
