Polk State Haines City-Davenport Campus Opens Spring 2027 Course Registration
Students in northeast Polk County can now take general education classes at Polk State College’s newest campus in Davenport this spring. Priority registration for the Spring 2027 term opened Nov. 2 for those with 50% completion toward a graduate degree, and open enrollment for all students will begin Nov. 9. Courses are listed on their website for the Jan. 6 term start.
The slate covers the core requirements most degree-seeking students have to complete as part of their degree programs. Some classes offered have a hybrid format with an in-person and online component. Others meet only in person.
Sections can be found in the Polk Portal by searching course numbers. Students in the limited-admission Health Sciences programs are asked to work with their program directors and advisors rather than registering on their own.
The course list is the first semester schedule for a campus that northeast Polk County has waited years to open. The 75,000-square-foot building sits next to AdventHealth Heart of Florida. It resulted from a $51 million project funded by appropriations from the Florida Legislature, state PECO allocations, a $3 million pledge from the Barnett family, and about $300,000 raised by the Polk State Foundation. It holds classrooms, labs, and offices for health sciences workforce training, along with what the college describes as Central Florida’s first public higher education interdisciplinary simulation hospital.
Polk State President Anastasios Kamoutsas said the campus “represents a significant investment in the future of Northeast Polk County.”
More Gen Ed courses are expected to be added in the Summer 2027 term. The college’s goal is to offer every Associate in Arts requirement at the campus beginning in Fall 2027.
