Reggie Webb Retiring From Polk State College After More Than 36 Years
Reggie Webb took a job advising students at what was then Polk Community College in 1990. He is leaving as the senior vice president who oversees nearly everything a Polk State student runs into outside a classroom.
Webb, a Lakeland native and a Lakeland Senior High School graduate, has announced his retirement after more than 36 years at the college. Polk State posted the announcement Oct. 23.
By the end, his title was senior vice president for student services and campus operations. The work behind it covered admissions, advising, athletics, TRiO Student Support Services, Title IX, campus safety, facilities, and campus operations. He reached it one step at a time. Admissions specialist, then director of enrollment management, then associate dean, then dean of student services. He became vice president for student services in 2014 and senior vice president in 2022, when facilities, campus operations, and public safety and security were folded into the job. Along the way, he taught as an adjunct professor of business.
“Senior Vice President Webb has served as a cornerstone of Polk State College for more than three decades,” President Anastasios Kamoutsas said. “His leadership and his genuine care for the College have left a lasting impact.”
Kamoutsas thanked him for his service and wished him “all the best in his next chapter.”

He belongs to Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and came through both Leadership Lakeland and the Polk Vision leadership program. In 2022, the Association of Florida Colleges handed him its Living Legend Award.
His office sits on the Winter Haven campus. It is the oldest of the locations Polk State lists alongside Lakeland, Bartow and Lake Wales. The college is also opening its Haines City-Davenport Campus in northeast Polk County.
The announcement does not give an effective date for the retirement. It names no successor and describes no search.
