Haines City to Host I-4 Public Meeting July 28 as FDOT Lists No Local Road Closures There This Week
Haines City has no major Florida Department of Transportation construction projects within the city this week, according to FDOT District One’s RoadWatch Report No. 30 covering July 26 through Aug. 1, 2026. But drivers and residents have an opportunity to weigh in on a significant upcoming corridor project next Tuesday.
The Moving I-4 Forward Program is hosting a public meeting Tuesday, July 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lake Eva Event Center, 799 Johns Avenue, Haines City. The meeting will cover planned improvements along the I-4 corridor from west of U.S. 27 to west of ChampionsGate Boulevard (C.R. 532), including enhancements to the I-4 and U.S. 27 interchange.
Attendees will also hear about accelerated improvements already underway along the corridor to reduce congestion and improve safety ahead of the official start of Project 3. Project displays, an informational video, and members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions and receive public comments.

Regional construction activity on nearby corridors, including U.S. 27 work in the Waverly and Lake Wales areas and ongoing I-4 construction in Lakeland, may also generate additional traffic through Haines City’s connecting roads this week. Drivers traveling to Bartow, Lakeland, or Lake Wales should review detour routes before heading out.
