Getting to Know Dark Kafé: A Local Coffee Story Spanning Two Cities

Dark Kafé started as a trailer on US-27 in Haines City, the kind of roadside spot you slow down for once and then find yourself going out of your way to find again. What began with early mornings and loyal regulars has grown into something bigger: this past April, the family behind the trailer opened their first brick-and-mortar location on East Stuart Avenue in downtown Lake Wales.

Same people, same coffee, two spots now instead of one.

The menu at both locations keeps it honest: specialty coffee, organic ceremonial matcha, and a seasonal breakfast lineup made with in-house syrups. No artificial flavors, no shortcuts. Think blueberry lavender lattes and cherry vanilla matcha, the kind of drinks that change with the season and give regulars a reason to come back and see what’s new.

This isn’t a grab-and-go chain. The community that grew up around the Haines City trailer, more than 3,600 Instagram followers and counting, is proof that good coffee and a genuine welcome go a long way in this county.

Both locations are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
