Teams build boats out of cardboard and tape, then race them across a corner of Lake Hollingsworth while everyone else watches to see which ones sink. Lakes Education and Action Drive runs the morning as a lakes festival as well, so there is conservation programming on shore alongside the spectacle. The race itself starts at 10 a.m., which is the part worth arriving for if you are coming to watch rather than to paddle.

When: Saturday, Oct 10, 2026, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Where: Lake Hollingsworth Boat Ramp, Lakeland, FL (street address not published)
Cost: Team registration $35
