Bartow Drivers Face Lane Closures on U.S. 98, S.R. 60 and Fort Fraser Trail Bridge Work This Week

Bartow area drivers, including those traveling through Highland City and Mulberry, should expect lane closures on multiple state roads this week as Florida Department of Transportation crews continue active construction and maintenance projects through Aug. 1, 2026.

The most significant work in the Bartow corridor involves U.S. 98 resurfacing between S.R. 60 and C.R. 540A, drainage work on S.R. 60 between Rifle Range Road and Alturas Road, and ongoing bridge construction for the Fort Fraser Trail crossing over S.R. 60 near Wilson Avenue. A railroad safety striping operation is also active in Mulberry on S.R. 60 at Mosaic east of Bonnie Mine Road. See the full list below.

FDOT reminds all motorists that speeding fines are doubled in active work zones across the district. Real-time traffic conditions are available at FL511.com.
