Haines City Honors Hometown Barber Who Cut His Way to the NFL

A Haines City man who learned his craft at Ridge Career Center and built a career that reaches from a Polk County barbershop to Super Bowl sidelines is being recognized by the city where it all started.

The Haines City Commission presented a proclamation on June 18 honoring Tavion “Tee” Maultsby, a Haines City native who has become one of the most recognized barbers in professional sports.

Tee began cutting hair in Haines City after completing his training at Ridge Tech, now known as Ridge Career Center, in 2007. From the start, he ran his chair with discipline and intention, building a reputation that extended well beyond the shop. He used the barbershop as more than a place of business, mentoring young men and organizing holiday giving drives each year, funding Thanksgiving meals and Christmas toys for children in the community through his own resources and community donations.

In 2016, he relocated to the Bay Area to expand his reach. Since 2017, he has served as the official Team Barber for the San Francisco 49ers, working with players, coaches, and staff through game days, media appearances, and two Super Bowl runs, Super Bowl LIV in 2019 and Super Bowl LVI in 2022.

From 2017 through 2023, he also served as the College Football Playoff National Championship Barber Coordinator, building and managing teams of more than 20 barbers per event across host cities nationwide. He is the owner of House of Favor, a private appointment-only grooming lounge in the Bay Area, and has served as a global brand ambassador for Andis Clipper Company and Hattori Hanzo Shears.

He remains licensed in both Florida and California.

Tee can be followed on Instagram at @Tee_DaBarber, on YouTube and TikTok as Tee Da Barber, and on Facebook as Tavion Tee Maultsby.

The proclamation was presented during the Haines City Commission meeting on June 18 at 7 p.m. at City Hall.
