Davenport: Lewis Mathews Sports Complex
Saturday, July 4: Davenport is marking the Fourth with a community celebration and a ribbon cutting for the brand-new Lewis Mathews Sports Complex, 400 E. Palm St. Festivities begin at 4 p.m., with the ribbon cutting at 7 p.m. and what the city bills as the largest fireworks display in Polk County closing out the night at 9:15 p.m. The Josh Blevins Band provides live music, and food vendors, a kids zone, and community vendors fill out the evening.
No personal fireworks are permitted at the event. Bring a blanket and plan to arrive early. For more information, visit mydavenport.org.
